About Us
How it started
(but, not how I thought it would all turn out!)
Top That! was not born in the typical humble beginnings.
The name popped into my head one day while I was
filling an order for a customized wedding bouquet. I had a a desire
to create elegant, one-of-a-kind wedding bouquets and cake toppers.
I wanted them to be unique, beautiful and affordable.
EUREKA! It was so simple; Top That! So, in discussing
this business venture with myself (and my husband-to-be of course)
I hit the ground running but never finished the race; I was right in
the middle of planning my own wedding. Needless to say Top That!
was now simmering on the back burner.
Fast Forward
I've always thought of myself as being creative (just like every
other woman who loves to stay in her craft room until the sun
comes up and the cat is rubbing your leg good morning). After
all I came by it naturally. My mothers nick name is
"Martha Stewart".......but there is a pot simmering on the back
burner. In my late teens, after my high school cheerleading days,
I became interested in scrapbooking and have made less than
serious attempts to revive my interest once again. Little by little
helping with my son starting school and fussing at the dog to
stop chasing the cat my love of scrapbooking has reached an all
time obsessive high. I began to buy all the paper and embellishments
I could get my hands on. I've dedicated the third bedroom in our
house as my "craft sanctuary" ( I still can't figure out where the
heavenly sounds are coming from when I float into "my room").
Most importantly, I've discovered the magic in attending a
Scrapbook Retreat. If you are like me you think what could I do to
improve the situation. Meaning, "hey, I can do that better." I drive myself
crazy (and my husband--poor guy). The only solution I could come up
with to offering a truly wonderful scrapbook retreat was to host one myself.
Certainly I could TOP all the others and provide what women
want most in all the aspects of a retreat. Wait a minute, EUREKA again!
I could use the TOP THAT! name for my scrapbook retreats. TOP THAT!,
meaning our retreats are at the TOP of all other scrapbooking retreats.
My desire is to offer the best in pricing, convenience, quality and scrapbooker satisfaction. I want the women who return home from our retreats to
sign up again and again in the years to come. Why? Because our goal is
to meet every scrapbookers absolute satisfaction!! We want your
weekend to be fun and relaxed but most of all we want your
creative juices flowing and we want
you to be productive!!
My name is LaTisha Wooten. I am the Creative Director for TOP THAT! Scrapbook Retreats. I am a 33-year old married mother of one son, Saylor. He is a fifth grader and is the reason I started scrapbooking in the first place. When you send an email or call, I will most likely be the one you will communicate with. I look forward to hearing from you!
Tim Wooten- is my husband and best friend. He is the most supportive and wonderful partner I could have ever asked for. He is 110% behind all of my creative ideas and ventures. He is my cheerleader, my friend, my husband and co-planner. He is always there when I need him. You all will get to meet him at the retreat. He will be there to help with set-up, general support and security for our crop room.
Barbara Yocum- is my mom. Wow! She exceeds the Websters definition of a mother! She is my Creative Consultant. I come by my creativity naturally, as she is the most creative and amazing woman I know! She is always there for me to bounce ideas off of and helps me come up with new ones. She is so amazing! Once you meet her you will too see what a talented and beautiful woman she is. She will be at the retreat along with teaching classes, helping us create and much much more! I can't wait for you to meet her! She is really my secret to success, or should I say my secret weapon!! She is the key designer for our new product line...Mockingbird Designs.
The following experienced scrapbooking ladies will be
teaching classes at the retreat. They are not officially
Top That! staffers, but rather devoted, dedicated and
amazing scrapbookers that I get to call my best friends!
They are the ones who convinced me that I could do this.
They made me realize that I could do it and helped me jump
in head first. They are scrappers who want to attend a
wonderful scrapbook retreat and they also teach a class
as a favor to me. I want all of my scrappers to experience
these ladies! They have amazing layouts/projects that continue
to amaze me. They do not get any special treatment when
it comes to hearing about our surprise themes! I make
them wait just like everyone else......it just kills
them....they hate the suspense!! I love them dearly!
They are my very best friends. I look up to them and
their ability to create amazing scrapbook layouts.
I wouldn't be where I am today in scrapbooking if
it were not for them.
I cant wait for you all to meet them!!
